Midnight Desires, directed by Shaun Costello is a very devastating portrait of how messed up human sexuality can be without our even knowing it. The plot features two couples who come together for an evening of games. The game in question is that each of the four people must describe their deepest, most hidden fantasy to the group, and after it has been recited, essentially psychoanalyzed to figure out its true meaning. The results are quite fascinating. At the end of the night, the group decides which fantasy they liked the most. Although this might strike you as an ordinary sexploitation plot (and I suppose to some degree it is), the acting, set design, clever use of music, and above all solid direction and scripting from the great Shaun (Waterpower) Costello elevate this far above the standard piece of porn.
